About Dr. Sacks
In 2010, Dr. Sacks began her general surgery practice at Georgian Bay General Hospital and she has been committed to the Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny, Tay and Beausoleil First Nations communities ever since. Dr. Sacks provides surgical care for a variety of diagnoses including gallbladder disease, hernias, colon cancer and colon cancer screening, skin cancer, complex wounds, and perianal disease. She has a special interest in breast cancer surgical care, including providing oncoplastic breast cancer surgery at GBGH. She provides after-hours emergency care to surgical patients at GBGH with appendicitis, bowel obstructions, GI bleeding, and trauma.
She has been very active in leadership at Georgian Bay General Hospital, including having served as the Chief of Surgery, and the President of the Medical Staff Association. Dr. Sacks has been instrumental in preserving, sustaining, and building the obstetrical program at GBGH by providing Caesarean section (C-section) coverage. She actively supports the fundraising efforts by the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation.
